  • Highlights: A haven for basketball, Henry County is home to the world's largest high school gymnasium (seating capacity 9,325), Hoosier Gym, where the movie "Hoosiers" was filmed, and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Museum.  Of more historical importance, don't miss the Wilbur Wright Birthplace and Museum!

Union County, Indiana

Fayette County, Indiana

  • County Seat: Connersville

  • Highlights: Train buffs will enjoy taking a ride to another era on the Whitewater Valley Railroad and birders will enjoy exploring the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary which is owned and operated by the Indiana Audubon Society.

 

Ohio

Preble County, Ohio

  • County Seat: Eaton

  • Highlights: Largely agricultural, Preble is home to the only remaining double-barreled cover bridge in Ohio. Known as the Roberts Covered Bridge, the structure has stood since 1829. Famous New Paris, Ohio son, songwriter Benjamin Hanby wrote the Christmas carol "Up on a House Top".

Darke County, Ohio

  • County Seat: Greenville

  • Highlights: Darke County is steeped in history as the site of the signing of the Treaty of Greene Ville in 1795. The Garst Museum celebrates it's famous daughter and son, Annie Oakley and Lowell Thomas. See how KitchenAid Stand Mixers are made on a factory tour.  Don't miss the Great Darke County Fair in August - held since 1853!
