Elkhorn Cemetery in
southern Wayne County, Indiana is the oldest cemetery in the county,
where some of our first pioneers are interred. It is also the
location where the first church and schoolhouse stood. |

memorial stone reads:
This memorial marks the approximate site of the first church built in Wayne County; the Elkhorn Baptist Church. It is also the site of the first school house in Wayne County. Both were log structures built in 1807. |
